Hessle Rangers has committed to partnering with Her Game Too. Together we want to eradicate sexism in football, encourage more women to play, coach, referee and volunteer in grassroots football, and raise awareness of the #HerGameToo message.

About Her Game Too

Her Game Too was founded by twelve female football fans who want to grow a game where women are welcomed and respected as equals. The campaign is led by fans, supported by clubs and backed by partners, working to be a catalyst for positive change. You can find out more at hergametoo.co.uk.

Why this matters to us

In 2018 the club launched a Wildcats centre, FA-affiliated sessions for girls aged 5 to 11 who are new to football. From the success of those sessions we have grown our single girls' team into five, with plans for two more, plus a Ladies team and a Ladies walking football session, and more than 20 girls at Wildcats each week.

There are now 130 female players involved with the club every week. That is almost ten times the 14 girls we had in 2018. We are committed to producing more girls' teams, more female players and more female coaches and referees, and to giving more boys the chance to play youth football too. We want to grow the number of senior teams, against the national trend.

About Hessle Rangers

Hessle Rangers is a grassroots football club in Hessle, East Yorkshire. Peter and Janet Bilsdon formed the club with one team in 1976. It has since grown into a three-star England Accredited club with five senior teams, four men's sides in the Humber Premier League, East Riding County League and Hull Sunday League, and a Ladies team in the East Riding Women's League. We run junior teams in the Hull and District Youth Football League and the East Riding Girls Football League, plus a Ladies walking football squad.
