Football, friends and fun for girls
Wildcats is the Football Association's programme for girls aged 5 to 11, and it's where the girls' game starts at our club. If your daughter has never played, this is the place to begin. There's no trial, no pressure, and nobody is left out.
Sessions are an hour of games, skills and small matches, run by coaches who know how to make a nervous first-timer feel at home. Some girls arrive shy and leave with a new group of friends. That's the whole point.
Our Wildcats programme is the reason Hessle Rangers was named East Riding FA Grassroots Club of the Year in 2019. We're proud of it, and we'd love your daughter to be part of it.

Wednesday evenings
5:30pm to 6:30pm. One hour, every week through the season.
Subs £2 a session
First week free. Come and try it before you decide.

Welfare you can trust
Vicky Thompson is our Welfare Officer. All coaches are FA-qualified, DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained.
Where Wildcats leads
Wildcats isn't a one-off. It's the first rung of a full girls' and women's pathway at one club. When your daughter is ready for league football, she can move into our East Riding Girls League teams, which run from U8 all the way to U16. From there, plenty go on to play for Hessle Rangers Ladies as adults.
We're a Her Game Too partner, which means we've committed to making football a welcoming place for girls and women. It's not a badge we wear lightly.
Questions parents ask
My daughter has never played football. Is that okay?
Yes, completely. Most girls who join Wildcats are brand new to it. The sessions are designed for beginners and the coaches expect it.
What should she wear?
Comfortable clothes she can run in, trainers or moulded boots, and a drink. Nothing special to buy to begin with.
Can I stay and watch?
Of course. Parents and carers are welcome to stay for the session.
